Logo Design – Your First Impression

The present era where hours have been reduced to minutes, the first glance or glimpse should mark the most appealing and gripping impression onto the observer and when it comes to creating an impression of your corporate stability and strength in the market then you have not more than few seconds to grab your customer’s attention.

Logo Design: A graphically illustrated image containing symbols or words about an organization, product or a particular event is termed as a logo design. The colors, images, font style and size used in a logo design are the main contributors of its success or failure. In this digital age it is your logo design that reaches your customer or partner earlier than your own self via all the communication and marketing materials or tools so, it serves as the ambassador of your business that has to catch the attention of the receiver (client, partner, and consumer) at first glance.

Eye Senses First than Brain: The impression or feel of any product whether food or cosmetics is firstly and fore mostly caught by the eye of the viewer. This is the decisive stage to go with viewing the details further or not. The more it appeals to one’s eye, the more it stimulates curiosity in the viewer to find out the details of that product.

Communication with Business partners:In communication with the business partners, it is the logo design of your company that has to mark your first impression that reaches them through your business collaterals i.e. via letter heads or brochures. A catchy logo design will help to turn the mind set of the viewer. It also gives a sense of stability to your competitors about your business.

Communication with Target Customers: The best way to flourish requires a constant endeavor towards amendment of your product line or services in accordance with the demands of your consumer. Your products and your services are the only constant and viable source of communication with them and a logo design is the first link in this communication cycle. If the five to six seconds that your customers spends in viewing your logo design are worth it, only then he/she will move with testing your product or availing your services. A perfect logo of your organization or product has the ability to transmit the signal waves that reflect your business as prospering, unwavering and booming and these signals serve to establish your firm bonding with your target customers.

Marketing across the Globe: Marketing of various products or services of a particular organization needs the basics of the company mentioned on that marketing source so that people can relate all those products or services to that one organization and a logo is the shortest and yet most enticing tool to do so. A logo design gathers least space as compare to the number of words that are needed to describe the corporate image of the organization and places a much stronger impression onto the consumer than words can therefore it must be in complete synchronization with your corporate objectives.

As it is said “The First Impression is the last Impression”. A logo design in your marketing and communication tools is such of an enviable importance that it may help in building your business relationships or in tearing them down. All depends upon how powerful your logo is in marking the first impression of your business stature.

Interior Design: Achieving Harmony The Designer’s Way

In the first part of this series, we dealt with the interior design philosophy of “accentuating the positive and eliminating the negative”. A good feature in a room should be accentuated or be given good attention while a bad feature should either be eliminated or camouflaged. Harmony in interior design can be achieved by creating a finished picture in your mind of how the room will look after the project is finished. By doing this you are simplifying the decorating steps and are right on track of putting things where they should be.

Once you have in mind the basic outline of a finished room, then it is time to start considering the decorative designs. Do you include decorative wallpapers, exotic rugs, beautiful upholstery designs and exciting draperies in your mental picture?

One basic rule of thumb in interior design is to feature only one dramatic pattern in a room. This pattern could be applied in the upholstery of a major piece of furniture or you could use this pattern in the rug or carpeting. Still another possibility is applying this featured pattern in the draperies or wallpapers. Although you can only use one dramatic pattern in a room, you can however repeat the same pattern in the room. Let’s say, you might want to use the same pattern in both the upholstery and the draperies or in carpeting and draperies or in the draperies and wallpaper. Depending on how you want things to coordinate. The point being, by using the same pattern in different elements in the room you are introducing harmony that will otherwise be non-existent.

After knowing some basic philosophy and rule of thumb in interior design, where do you start planning that mental image of a finished room? Should you start with a decorative patterned upholstery or rug or should it be wallpaper or just simple painted walls? Should you match carpeting with the upholstery or with the draperies? All these questions and others can be endless.

Scale and proportions are the keys to creating good harmony in room d
